Appaloosa Acres barn

Appaloosa Acres LLC was established in 2005 with potential as a show, boarding or rescue barn but primarily
to function, at that time, as a rehab facility for Titan, our retired Belgian hunt horse, suffering from resistant canker
and owned with John Gray who was in residence at the farm for many years.

It is still home to Buck - our Appaloosa for whom the farm is named.

We lost our beloved Herd Leader..... Titan...... on December 17th to what was apparently a massive heart attack. At near 30 years of age (exact age unknown) he went quickly and without struggle and was buried at his home - Appaloosa Acres - with his family of horses, his owners Lynda and John, and his caretakers Richard and Barbara Marsh in attendance. He and Buck were the initial reason for the farm and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Appaloosa Acres offers clinics, educational seminars, special events and shows throughout the year and Angie is also on the Board of Directors of the Janice Boswell Animal Advocacy Foundation along with myself, Leslie Hutto, Diane Caruso and Sherry McFarland.

It is also home to caretakers Richard and Barbara Chaput Marsh and their horses

Contact us for your birthday parties, weekend getaways and other special events in a beautiful, relaxing country setting. Lovely cottage available by reservation
for single persons or couples looking for quiet country getaways. Also available for incoming participants at horse events.

We do hope to have a new instructor coming on to do English and/or Western riding lessons after the first of the year.

Lynda and Buck have taken up the sport of Ranch Sorting. Buck fell in love with it immediately at his first practice where he was introduced to the cows by veteran rider Cliff Chancey. Buck is totally confident with the cattle, pushing them with his nose when they won't go and guarding the gate fearlessly. It seems he has found his calling :-).

We have an Honorary Pony

We have a new resident now at the farm - The Wellington Cowboy - a classy
name bestowed by Brooke (daughter of Angie Gates) on our sweet, friendly,
fun and entertaining new companion - a 2 year old Jersey X steer who
answers to the name Cowboy, plays with the horses, loves treats and
having his horns and back of his ears rubbed and being brushed.
Bottle-raised by Angie Hubbard, he is certain he is a pony. and NO,
......he will NEVER be dinner :-)
